mmmbop

The 90's.  It's when I was born.  It's when I grew up.  The time of "Friends", Hanson, the macarena, N'Sync, The Backstreet Boys, "Boy Meets World", all the goodies.

When I heard there was a 90's party last night, I got so excited.  People always have 80's parties, and even though they're fun, it's not like I lived through them.  Plus, I didn't even have to go to Goodwill to put my outfit together!  Livs got her plaid for like $2, and Kelcy got her little white flower dress and jean jacket for a grand total of $6!
I seriously felt like I went back in time.

you will never

I'm always using these types of phrases:

"Enjoy your youth.  You'll never be younger than you are at this very moment."

It's true though!  It's just like when I'm hosting at work and customers come up to me and ask,  "how far away are we?" "is it almost our time to be sat?".  And I find myself saying, "don't worry, you're closer than you ever have been."  It's the same with my longing to be 21.  "I'm closer than I ever have been."

But back to the youth quote.  I want to start living by it, and I think I already have.  I'm going to stop saying "no" to hanging out with friends or going out when I have work the next morning.  And who cares if I have a late night food craving? If I don't do all of these things now, a ten years down the road when I'm so overrun with work, family, and the hassles of "the real world", I'll wish I could go back and do it over again.

And now for the only two good pictures taken last night:

I love this picture despite the fact
that we weren't ready at allll.

:(

You might be thinking that all I've blogged about lately is Coachella.  And you're right.
I am soooo sad that I missed my chance to go to Coachella once again.  I was going to finalize the plans and buy the tickets this week, but guess what?? They already sold out.  In like 6 days.
So here are some pictures for you all (and me) to look at.  I'm pretty sure they're all at Coachella.  It looks like I'll have to buy my tickets next year as soon as they are released.  Have fun to all of you who are going to be having the craziest three days of your lives.

I'll have to save my outfit
ideas for next time...

I consider you all very fortunate.

line up

I am crossing my fingers and toes in hopes that I can make it to Coachella this year!!  I know the tickets are expensive...and that doesn't even count food, merchandise, hotel, etc.  BUT, I've been dying to go and every year I keep saying, "I'll just go next year."  Well, I'm afraid that if I don't go this year, I won't go next year, and I'll never be able to experience those three days of adventures with my friends.
I'm excited for The Black Keys, Arcade Fire, Empire of the Sun, Kanye West, Wiz Khalifa, Ratatat, Chromeo, Jimmy Eat World, Yelle, and Ellie Goulding!!  I'm sure there are many more bands I would love to hear, but I need tips from you all on what songs to listen to!!

What are your favorites?! If I do end up going, I want to know as many of the songs sung as possible :)

first day royalty

Today was the first day back to school.  This semester is going to be a tough one.  Kelcy and I decided to get all of our hard core business classes out of the way this semester.  But that means we have to take three of the classes we've been dreading, all at one.  And to top it all off, they're all in the same lecture hall.

But it was a good day overall.  And what made it that much better, was the Burger King King.  He was wandering the Memorial Union when Kelcy and I went downstairs to get our Jamba Juices.  I saw him meandering around last semester, but it was amazing to see him in all his glory on the first day of school!

I'm trying to forget that he was, in fact, kind of creepy.  Like how he snuck up on Kelcy and was literally centimeters behind her looking over her shoulder at the picture.  And when we turned around, shocked to see him so close, he simply gave us the "A-Okay" sign and walked away.

How were your first days back?!

hello again lovelies

Wowww.  It has been WAY too long since my last post.  If I were you guys I would have thought that I disappeared when the new year came!  But I'm back :)

My NYE wasn't spent at some extravagant party toasting with champagne and dancing until I had to kick my heels off.  Instead, I was at home with Kelcy and Paige, packing for our early morning flight to Kauai with my Mom and Dad!  We did have a toast, champagne thanks to Joel (Paige's BF), and a mini dance party.  Then we hit the hay, woke up at 5 in the early morning, and made our way to the airport.
Kauai was amazing!!  It was so much different from the other islands, but it was so lush and beautiful.  In fact, it was kind of chilly some days! Here are some pictures from the trip, and now you can see what I've been up to for the past ten days.
hat shopping in hanalei haha
Giving Kel a piggy back ride :)
horseback riding!
Kel and Paige with the coffee beans
The mini-plane we got to ride in!
(from the plane)
Where a scene in
Tropic Thunder was filmed!!
The part where Ben Stiller was a captive.
We got to talk into cool headsets
A HUUUUGE cave

Thanks Mom and Dad for the trip :))
It was so great to spend ten days with the parents and Paige since I don't get to see either that much when we're all back in Arizona.

Now I've got a day to do laundry, unpack, and then repack for my trip to California with Mom and Kel!!

some questions

The lovely Charlotte at you were in a dream i had tagged me in a fifteen questions post here.  I love her blog: the quotes, her thoughts, and how much she believes in writing letters and keeping in touch with people from all around the world.

Here goes!!  P.S. I got rid of the questions that I had no idea at all how to answer.

One.  What is your dream job?
This is probably the hardest question.  And it's asked ALL the time.  I know I want to be in LA.  I know that I want to make enough money to be able to travel.  I just don't know exactly what I want to do to get there.  This summer will be eye-opening.  I'm working on getting an internship in the entertainment industry so we'll see if I like it!!

Two.  How do you take your tea or coffee?
At Starbucks, I love the gingerbread latte or java chip frappucino.  At Dutch Bros., I love the Kokomo (coconut/coffee blended ice drink).  On vacation, I like tea or coffee with sugars and milk.

Three. What is your most important beauty secret?
I'm not sure I have one!!  I do believe in washing your face at night and in the morning.  I know it can be hard sometimes at night when you just want to pass out in bed, but otherwise your face is feasting on that makeup all night.

Four.  If you had an all-expense paid vacation to anywhere, where would you go?
Since the option is anywhere, I would go everywhere.  Take a month, or two, or three off, and go around the world.  Start in the Caribbean, take a plane to Paris, hit all the favorites in Italy, do some extreme sports in Interlaken, Switzerland, jet to Barcelona, head south to Morocco, then a little bit east to Egypt to see the pyramids, visit the best places in Asia, Indonesia, and then make my way through Brazil, Peru, Chile, and Argentina before landing safe, sound, and happy in Arizona.  <3

Five.  If a genie popped up right now, what would your three wishes be?
One: to be 100% sure of an amazing internship in LA this summer.
Two: for Kelcy to be able to visit me at least once a month in Italy this Fall.
Three: to have a job offer senior year, and live a meaningful life.

Six. If you could only have one type of food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Mexican food...hands down.

Seven. What one talent do you wish you had?
I wish I had a talent at all.  My whole life I've tried so many different hobbies and sports. I never really found my passion, and I always wish I had something like that to help define who I am.

Eight. Who is your biggest celebrity crush?
There are so many!! James Dean.  James Franco.  Adam Brody.  Ed Westwick.
Nine. If you could look into the future, would you?
I think I would.  Yeah, a little bit of the mystery would be gone.  But hey, even if you see it everything's going to turn out like that anyway.  I could look into the future, and know what I need to do in my present life to get there.  I could see who my husband is, and not have to waste my time with someone who would have just broken my heart.  But then again, I'd see some of the bad things too.  That's probably the hardest question.  I'd want to see my future in doses...when it will help with an important life decision.

Ten. What made you start a blog?
I started this blog last April with my two best friends.  One of our friends from work had one, and we thought it was really cool to have a place to write your thoughts, quotes that mean something to you, and anything else.  I'm so glad I started it.  Not only is it a journal for me, to see where I've been and write about where I want to go.  It's also been amazing to form little relationships with other bloggers.  It's like a community.

And I'd like to tag some of my newest followers, so that I can learn more about who they are :)

letters from the sky

I am absolutely obsessed with this song right now.  I have to listen to it at least 5 times a day for it to be complete.

Listen and enjoy :)

olivia

This post is dedicated to my best friend, Olivia.

sooo pretty <3
I seriously love talking to this girl.  She listens to my stories, tells me hers, gives great advice, has a level head on her shoulders, is wise beyond her years, and is SO motivated.
Whether we're calming each other down and promising each other that the world will not end in 2012, or when she tells me stories that light up my day, I love it.  I know that she will always be there to listen to me, and I want her to know that I will always be there to listen to her.

I love you Livvies <3 Let's get through this next semester, have an amazing summer, one last year of college as roommates, and an amazing life in the city of angels!

latin heat

It's been kind of weird without the roomies here for the last couple of days! But I'm definitely keeping busy...I wish I had this much to do even while they are in town.

P.S. I wish I had actual pictures...but my phone camera is horrible and I forgot a real one.  So here's pictures via the internet haha

Yesterday, I went bowling with a handful of people from work and that was a lot of fun.  It was cool to see everyone out of their uniform and acting themselves.  I went to late night Buffalo Wild Wings with my friend Drew, and we got the appetizer sampler.  The mozzarella sticks were pretty good, and the nachos were awesome too.  Funny story...I saw this brownish/red stuff on the nachos and totally assumed that it was salsa...and half way through Drew reminded me that I was a vegetarian and said that I had been eating ground beef.  Once he said it, I tasted it, and then I stuck to the chips, cheese, and jalepenos.

I spent all day with my dad and mom today.  Dad and I went Christmas shopping for mom and made a quick little trip into the luxurious Saks Fifth Avenue to pretend we were interested in buying 1,500 Jimmy Choo boots.  Then my mom and I saw that new Reese Witherspoon-Paul Rudd movie and went out for dinner.  Then at eight, I met up with my friend Albert from work to go to Latin Heat at LA Fitness!!  It was soooo much fun.  But I must admit I'm out of shape.  I went allll out the first half of class, but by the second, I was half-assing (excuse my language) it.
i'm obsessed with my walmart sweats
right now :)
Being alone almost forces you to have more fun.  But I'm also having fun reading, watching The O.C. from the beginning, and making attempts at cleaning my room.

What do you like to do when you're alone?!

miracle

"There are only two ways to live your life.
One is though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as if everything is."
